By now you will understand the need to build your Opt-In Mailing List, Ezine or what ever you want to call it. You should also realise by now that a least 3 things need to be in place before you are ready to start to build your Internet Marketing Business (which is really your opt-in mailing list).


These are an Advertising Programme, a Management System and a Prospecting Website to make first contact with other networkers. Only when these 3 things are in place will you be ready to start building your very own personal and private opt-in email list to which you can advertise your opportunities.


But, A Word Of Caution: Your Opt-In List is NOT:


** An opt-in email list is not a bunch of email addresses you've "harvested" from websites, classifieds, newsgroups or any other source because the people whose addresses you gather in this manner never asked to see your information. If you harvest email addresses you are risking a spam complaint.


** An opt-in list does not contain the addresses of advertisers who sent you their offers at YOUR request. You asked to see their offers. They did not ask to see yours. If you are replying to information you asked for with your own offer you are risking a spam complaint.


** An opt-in list can't be purchased. There are ways to purchase lists and generate an opt-in list.


So what is an Opt-In Email List?


It's your exclusive list of email addresses for people who have asked you to send them your information or have joined a programme from one of your websites and are likely interested in your information.


They also understand that you will continue to send them information and offers unless they decide to opt-out.


Like it or not, list building is the one thing you must do first. To understand how to set yours up you'll need:



No marketing guru who says "I made 45 sales in the first 24 hours" or "I made $7500 in the last week" could have possibly made so much money so fast without first having built and cultivated an opt-in list to advertise their offers to. Just as every building must begin with a good foundation so must your Internet business. You must build your business in this order.


**Build Your List **Build Your Relationships **Build Your Wealth


You will need advertising programmes to advertise your newsletter, ezine or whatever. From these advertising programmes you will direct people to your autoresponder to sign up for your newsletter.



As we discussed before, you will need an autoresponder and to create a series of letters containing the free information which you are offering.



Add what other lead generating programmes are working for you. Use what you like and forget the rest. The main thing is that the programmes you recommend work.



You can also include your own personal recommendations whether they be internet tools or affiliate programmes. Once your opt-in list start to trust you and believe what you're telling them, they will trust your recommendations and will start to sign up for your programmes. That is when your income begins.



Finally: A Prospecting Website. OK, You have your Advertising and Management Systems in place. Now you need leads to add to your auto-responder. Some will come from your advertising programmes but you can also generate your own using a prospecting website.
