I write a lot of articles, but for other people as part of my SEO relationship with my clientele. I've tried many different systems, and find the advice of many of the known article gurus to be quite helpful. But my tested strategies, adopted and mixed from many different article strategists, have worked to put my clients' websites onto the first page of Google for many key phrases. As the second in a series of articles on article marketing, I'd like to drop another strategy into your lap.

When you've written an article and you've spent time making it right, it's smart to get the biggest bang for your effort. You may have the inclination to send your article out to several different directories, but here's the thing: Duplicate content floating around in cyberspace isn't going to get you where you want to go, SEO-wise. You need to put original content on your site, and into at least one article directory, as well. So, what can you do?

Rewrite the article, at least twice or more. By doing that you have as many original distinct versions of the same information as you want. Just take your article, paragraph by paragraph and write what you said again in each instance. For example, if I wrote, "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain." My rewrite sentence could be, "Spain has weather
issues. Rain doesn't fall in the mountains as much as it drenches the flatlands." OK. I have no idea about rain in Spain and I'm sure that this is totally bogus information, but you get the idea, I hope. Just write the same thing over again, but in a different way. When you're finished, upload the original article to your blog or website. You'll still have versions 2 and 3 or more for directories. I suggest putting version 2 into Ezine Articles.com and another version into iSnare.com. Why? Because Ezine Articles is probably the most respected directory around. Their reputation is high because they keep the quality of their submissions high, and probably get the most traffic from people hoping to find information. Plus, high Google page rank links back to your website doesn't hurt. iSnare.com is similar, but only in that it's an article directory. It's also another respected spot. However, iSnare will distribute your article all over the Internet for just 2 bucks.

But you're not done! Take your rewritten articles and make many more articles by using paragraph 1 from article 1 and paragraph 2 from article 2 and so on. When you mix the combinations, you have even more articles to use in directories that didn't already pick your article up. Submit each of these newly formed articles to 5 -10 directories at a time. Just be sure that they're different enough from the ones you uploaded to your website and the article that you placed into Ezine Articles. To do that, visit dupecop.com, where you can test 4 articles for their degree of divergence at the same time.

But I know what you're thinking...

Isn't having the same article distributed to so many different directories duplicate content? Well, yes. In the case of iSnare and other article directories, it is. But you shouldn't care about that because the number of directories that choose to use your article can only help to bring traffic to your website for a very long time. The big article directories won't go away. Some of the smaller ones will last, too, but in any event, if you keep writing articles and submitting them in this way, you'll have important links back to your site in addition to traffic from wide distribution. Plus, if done right, people may read your articles, regardless of where they are, think you're pretty smart, and visit your website, too.

How cool is that?
